So Long, and Thanks For All the Fish

Lately, it's been obvious to me that blogging has become a chore. Making a post seems like the hardest thing to do and, honestly, I don't think it should be like that. I admit this: I don't enjoy updating this blog the way I used to, and for this I think it's time to say goodbye.

I'm very thankful to all of you, to all the lovely people who I've met over the last years. I started blogging in 2008. At the time I was in a really bad place and sharing my photos helped me to disconnect from all the bad things that were happening in real life. Still, I never imagined I'll get to find so many inspiring persons on the way. Seriously, thank you so much for putting a smile on my face for the past (almost!) 5 years.

Currently, I couldn't be happier with what I'm doing. My life is hectic and stressful and I still have random periods of insomnia, but it's worth it. Knowing I've chosen this, knowing I'm able to do what I've chosen, that's the most amazing thing. Unfortunately, doing what I do means I don't have as much time to take photos as I'd like; but mostly, it means I generally lack the extra energy and enthusiasm that I need to keep this blog going.

I'll still be active on tumblr, and I've made a secondary account there where I'll be uploading my photos so I can have them nice and organized. That means that I'll gradually delete this blog's posts.

You'll still be able to reach me via my email address, twitter, or various tumblr accounts. My pictures will be at WE WILL BURN THIS CITY DOWN.

My best wishes to all of you.

Love, Paula.

  1. "Knowing I've chosen this, knowing I'm able to do what I've chosen, that's the most amazing thing." Amen to that, I'm sad you're 'leaving' this place but I'm sad-happy knowing you're doing what you love and doing your best at it. All my love!

  2. Paula, I have followed you on the Internet for a while now; I'm not sure if it started on LiveJournal or what, but I have always enjoyed your posts, especially your book lists. I am actually also in the process of retreating from blogging, although I think that I am actually going to move back to LiveJournal, so I completely understand your sentiments. Good luck with everything you pursue in the future. I will continue to follow you on Tumblr.
